Brief Introduction to the Abbess of Dharma Matters of Hua Zang Si
Eminent Master Long Hui is the abbess of Hua Zang Si in charge of dharma matters. She is a well-respected outstanding Buddhist monastic who leads a life of purity and whose cultivation is based upon the lineage of orthodox Buddha-dharma.
Master Long Hui was a smart and considerate child who had great compassion toward other living beings. As she grew older, she pursued liberating herself and others from the cycle of reincarnation by incessantly exploring methods of attaining enlightenment. After she became an ordained Buddhist nun under elder monk Sheng-Kai, she strictly upheld the precepts and practiced meditation with great diligence. She continued to cultivate herself with unremitting effort.
However, in the end, she felt she did not achieve much. One of the Four Great Vows in Buddhism states, “There are countless dharma methods. I vow to learn them.” In order to fulfill this vow, she began a long journey traveling great distances in search of a great master and the true Buddha-dharma. Master Long Hui visited many reputable temples and monasteries and went through numerous challenges and hardships. She received broad teachings on the exoteric dharma. However, in the end, she concluded that her level of realization was still inadequate. Thus, she started searching for another way to advance her self-cultivation.
As her karmic conditions matured, the Master got a glimpse of the profundities of Tibetan esoteric Buddhism. She then realized that the profound dharma of Vajrayana Buddhism incorporates the teachings of exoteric Buddhism. She was then able to refer everything back to the Tripitaka (the sutras or discourses, the monastic discipline, and the commentaries or treatises), and her level of realization increased every day. While benefiting from learning esoteric Buddhism, her lectures on the Buddha-dharma never deviated from the exoteric sutras.
Based upon such remarkable karmic conditions and her outstanding virtues and achievements, the Master was appointed by other monastics to be the Chairperson of International Buddhism Sangha Association. She also received recognition as a respected mentor in Buddhism. Despite her proficiency in the sutras, her state of realization was still not advanced enough.
Keeping the Four Great Vows in mind, Master Long Hui constantly reminded herself of pursuing the authentic and profound Buddha-dharma. After searching for a long time, she finally had an opportunity to meet with elder Great Dharma King Yangwo Yeshe Norbu Chiba. Perceiving her great potential in learning the dharma, the elder Great Dharma King accepted her as a disciple.
He first ordered her to disregard whatever dharma teachings she had learned before to prepare her for a completely different dharma teaching. Then, he personally instructed her on the doctrines of the Tripitaka using exoteric Buddhism as the foundation while at the same time causing her to penetrate deeply into the esoteric Buddha-dharma. This form of instruction surpassed the regular teachings of Buddhism she received in the past and broadened her perception and comprehension of Buddhism. After Master Long Hui diligently learned and practiced the teachings she was given, the elder Great Dharma King perceived that she was ready for the next level of learning. He thus recommended that she solely concentrate on learning and practicing the dharma teachings of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu.
It suddenly occurred to her that several years ago in Chengdu, China she had formally acknowledged H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu as her Master. She realized that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu did not transmit any dharma to her at that time because her dharma wisdom was not adequately developed, and she would not have been able to comprehend his teachings. After the elder Great Dharma King spoke so highly of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu, she started to realize that the most precious dharma treasure was within reach.
She began a series of self-advancement processes, which included listening to dharma lectures, contemplating the dharma, practicing the dharma, and realization. After listening to several hundred lectures given by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu, she came to realize that his discourses are the essence of both exoteric and esoteric Buddhism. In addition, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu invoked Buddhas to bestow nectar, which was used in an initiation for Master Long Hui. He practiced the Mahamudra of Liberation and manifested to her the three bodies, i.e. the dharma body, reward body, and transformation body, which are identical to the ones of Buddhas.
Master Long Hui knew that Great H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu had attained supreme realization. She decided that she would closely follow H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu and learn diligently with a humble mind. Moved by her devotion in self-cultivation, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu transmitted to her the Mind Dharma method, a great indescribable Buddha-dharma that enabled her to progress rapidly. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbuo decided that she was ready for even more profound dharma. He then transmitted to her the initial step of the Mahamudra of Liberation and another powerful esoteric dharma. These profound dharma methods built up a solid foundation that resulted in her sudden realization of the profound dharma relating to the nature of existence. She came to realize the truth of birth and death and their relation to living beings. She realized that living beings and the universe are united without distinctions.
Many people know that the Great Compassion Mantra possesses huge power, but the question is why the majority of those who practice it are not able to bring forth its great power, as Master Long Hui has been able to do. What mystery lies behind her practice of the Five Thunder Correct Dharma Palm, during which she releases force to hit an object over a great distance? She has mastered the true essence of the Buddha-dharma and the gist of the Tripitaka. She has also achieved levels of accomplishment in Vajrayana Buddhism by incorporating her comprehension of the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu’s teachings on esoteric dharma into her daily practice. Her diligent cultivation under the Great Buddha Master’s teachings has molded her to become an eminent monastic who demonstrates high levels of realization and virtue.
Moreover, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu himself, the Great Buddha Master of Master Long Hui, possesses incredible powers. He resurrected a bull that had been killed and cured a cancer patient within seven days. No other ordinary monastic is able to comprehend or explain his power, let alone demonstrate it. Another exampleinvolves two very young reincarnated brother and sister Rinpoche of Master Long Hui.They have demonstrated their extraordinary powers at very young age. One good example would be that their faces showed through four layers of cloth on a photo taken by a another disciple of the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu. Their state of realization is no different from that of the leading monastics of various sects in the past. They surely are holy beings who have returned to this world voluntarily.
Many holy feats manifested by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu unveiled his state of Buddhahood. He recently prophesied that the Buddha would manifest a colorful Buddha light to consecrate the holy temple, Hua Zang Si, before its grand opening. He notified Master Long Hui and other monastic and lay disciples of this holy feat before it occurred. All of these people waited for a short time and then saw the Buddha light over the roof of the temple empowering it from above exactly as H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu predicted.
Receiving teachings directly from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu, Master Long Hui has attained a profound state of realization and has thus become an eminent monastic and great dharma master who undertakes the responsibility of promoting true Buddha-dharma. Now as the abbess of Hua Zang Si in charge of dharma matters, she accepts as disciples those who are willing to take refuge in her and transmits Buddha- dharma to them to practice. She treats sentient beings with great compassion, as if they were all her family members. For those virtuous practitioners who demonstrate great quality and potential, she will beseech H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu to perform initiations on them and transmit to them the supreme Buddha-dharma.
